COMMISSION INFORMATION

Lady of Glass offers custom stained-glass commissions designed through a clear, organized, and fully documented process. All communication for commissions is handled exclusively through email to ensure accurate records of measurements, design notes, approvals, and shipping details. This written format protects the integrity of your project and ensures every detail is captured.

Communication Policy
All commission discussions take place through email. This allows for:
A complete written record of measurements and specifications
Clear documentation of design requests and revisions
Organized tracking of photos, inspiration images, and reference materials
Accurate quoting and approval steps
Email communication ensures that every detail of your custom piece is preserved and easily referenced throughout the design and fabrication process.

Initial Consultation
During the initial consultation, we will discuss:
Your measurements and installation needs
Photos of the space or inspiration images
Design preferences, motifs, and color palettes
Any specific requests or functional requirements
Your ideal budget range
This information helps determine the scope of the project and guides the design phase.

Design Deposit
Once a general design direction is agreed upon, a non‑refundable $100 design deposit is required to begin the formal design process. This deposit:
Reserves your place in the schedule
Covers the time spent creating your custom design
Is applied toward the final cost of your commission

Design Phase
After the design deposit is received, the design phase begins. This includes:
Creation of an initial digital design draft
Up to two revision sessions to refine the design
A final digital design will be emailed to you for approval. This ensures the piece reflects your vision before fabrication begins.

Final Approval & Payment
Once the final design is approved, a contract will be signed and the remaining balance of the commission (minus the $100 deposit) is due in full. Payment must be completed before fabrication begins.

Fabrication Timeline
Most commissions take approximately 6 weeks to complete. However, timelines may vary depending on:
Size and complexity of the design
Material availability
Current studio schedule
A more accurate timeline will be provided once your individual project details are finalized.

Shipping & Delivery
Shipping is included in the final price of your commission. You will receive an itemized breakdown of all shipping-related costs, which may include:
Packaging materials
Freight charges
Full-value shipping insurance
Crating for Large Panels
Large stained-glass panels are shipped in custom-built wooden crates to ensure safe transport. These crates are designed to protect the artwork from impact, vibration, and environmental changes during transit.
